    6.50 miles

    Easy Moderate

    Sunday 27th June, 2021 -  THURSTASTON,  WIRRAL.

    Leader Jeff Milne.

Meet at Thurstaston Visitor Centre,  CH61 0HN at 10.15am. Sunday 27th June

Note a £2 parking fee. Pay at machine. Lasts all day.

The walk is 6.5 miles with 500 feet of climbing.

Nice walk with great views across the River Dee and North Wales.

Anyone wishing to join the walk, is asked to Text Jeff to advise him that you will be doing the walk. Jeff’s number is 07957 763 560.

Bring your Mask and keep aware of the Social Distance Guidance on the walk.

We were hoping to resume “normal” activities on 21st June, but the “Covid” relaxation has been put back until 19th July. This results, of course, in our Monthly Meetings and Coach Trips being put on the back-burner, as has the Membership subscription.

The Programme for July to December, which was circulated a short while ago, will not be valid until the Regulations are sufficiently relaxed. CAR WALKS, PUBLIC TRANSPORT WALKS and LOCAL WALKS, will continue as at present…those on our Circulation List will be notified as-and-when walks are planned.

It appears that we are not out-of-the-woods yet, so take care.

    Regards to All

    9.00 miles

    Moderate Hard

We will walk from Castleton to Mam Tor, then along the path to Lose Hill, then down into Hope village and then along the river back to Castleton.

This is a Hard Walk of approximately 9 miles with 1900 feet of climbing.

We will meet at Central Square, Maghull,  at 8.15 a.m. and then all drive to the car park at the Visitor Centre in Castleton. The Post Code is S33 8WN

There is a parking charge which we think is £6 but bring a little more in case we’re wrong. You will need cash rather than card for their machines.

Please let us know in advance by text if you’re joining us, on 07897 298 198  (Jackie’s number). Also please confirm if you’re meeting us in Central  Square or going straight there.

We will be keeping your records for track and trace as social distancing etc… will still be in force.

Castleton is a lovely village with several cafes and pubs and there are public toilets in the car park.
